Wednesday’s Child

As far back as I can remember, since childhood, it has always been a goal of mine to publish a book. I dreamed of what my front cover would look like with my name emblazoned on the front and dreamed of staring at it proudly as it sat on the shelf in my favourite bookshop, next to some of my favourite authors of all time.

While some of the visions I had throughout that time have had to change, the overall ambition of one day writing a book with a cover I was proud of and with my name on the front cover has remained a constant.

I am very proud, delighted and a little nervous to announce my first book…Wednesday’s Child.

Wednesday’s Child explores our relationship to disability, mental health, body image and more. The book tries to explain our identity and how it relates to mental health challenges and physical challenges, and how we may sometimes use these identities to overcome these physical and mental barriers.

Further in the book discusses topics around our gender relations and race relations and what, if anything, we have done in the past five years or so to tackle these challenges and how we may try to tackle these issues in the future, to cultivate a culture of true inclusivity.

The book describes in detail the challenges of growing up in Ireland with a disability with all the highs and lows that come with it—experiencing the fantastic highs of opportunities afforded to those with disabilities, to the social isolation and mental health difficulties that accompany growing up with a disability in rural Ireland.

This book is the definition of a dream come true. A lifelong goal that is finally coming to life. I hope that you will come with me on this journey and continue to make this a reality, and help me to do this for a long time to come.

Wednesday’s Child is available now from Amazon for Kindle and from Apple Books. Full release for Wednesday’s Child October 25th 2021.

Before concluding this special edition of the blog, I again want to thank you for taking the time to read this post. I hope you liked it.
